About this course
The 20-Hour Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP) prepares eligible staff to safely administer medications under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse in Maryland community-based settings.
Using the Maryland Board of Nursing-approved curriculum, this course provides instruction in medication administration, medication safety, documentation, medication orders and Medication Administration Records (MARs), common medications and side effects, error prevention, and the responsibilities of the Medication Technician.
Participants complete required classroom instruction, skills practice, and competency evaluation. Upon successful completion of the program and required certification process through the Maryland Board of Nursing, participants may function as Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs) under the delegation and supervision of an RN.
Rise Nurse Collective provides MTTP instruction specifically designed to prepare staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide safe, person-centered medication support. This class is held in-person.
